Within the context of TABIP Lecture Series, considering that the concept of “Science Diplomacy” is not widespread in Turkish academic environment, we would like to start the first lecture of “TABIP Lecture Series” with “Science Diplomacy Talks” in close cooperation with reputable universities in Istanbul and Ankara, with the participation of academicians who are specialized of science diplomacy area from Turkey and abroad.
The first “Science Diplomacy Talks” will be held at Marmara University on the 15th of October in Istanbul.

10.20 – 10.40 Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran, Science Diplomacy; Soft Power to connect the world through science
10.40 – 10.55 Dr. Olga Krasnyak, Science diplomacy strategies with case studies
10.55 – 11.10 Dr. Jason Blackstock, Science diplomacy and future worlds
Pop Quiz between all speeches: There will be one pop quiz question during the presentation of the speakers, the speaker will convert the presentation topics according to the answers of the participants and investigate why they answer it in that way.
11.10 – 11.40 Light refreshments served
11.40 – 12.00 Debate Session
At the outset, the speakers are polled to measure their opinions on a single topic. Following the debate, they are polled again to see how many are now in favor of or against. The winner of the debate will be chosen between the debaters who affect the audience the most and make them change their previous votes. Each debater will have 5 minutes to defend her / his argument.
12.00 – 12.30 Storytelling Session
5 contestants will be selected randomly among the participants who participate in the conference and the selected contestants will be given random terms that are relevant to the subject and they will be asked to tell a story by using these words. The speakers will vote for them and the winner will be given the chance to attend the dinner with the speakers and the TABIP team. (plus TABIP gift pack)
